Monochrome+Minimal

It was a hot day and I was head to ankle in black, which really isn't advisable. Luckily my top was thin so this lushness could breathe. Today’s theme was monochrome minimal. In this hotter than usual summer we've been experiencing, I felt the need to go simple (simple & comfortable), accessorising with only my d.i.y statement necklace and a pair of sunnies. My make –up was neutral, pale lips with white eye-liner on the upper lid (which really brought out the lash line- no need for mascara) but the emphasis was on the brow, I coloured those suckers in. Part from that, just another day representing the fat!

Sheer Print Vs Black

What better way to spend the day than with your best friend catching up for a good yarn and a feed. Still loving this sheer shirt! Much love to my friend Tia who is credited with taken these photos, what is a blogger without roping their loved ones into the role of photographer?

Cut Me Out

This is just a casual outfit for roaming the local farmers market. I love this shirt not only for the fact that it’s such an easy piece to wear but for its rad shoulder cut outs. I’m still not a fan of baring my arms but the cut outs are a great alternative to show some skin but still having the coverage of a sleeve to hide what you don’t want flapping about. Plus it’s a nod to my fashion resolution of baring more flesh but in a way that I feel comfortable in doing so. But damn, why aren’t there more of these shirts around coz I would buy them up like candy (maybe D.I.Y some, something to consider for my next project?).

My Shot@ Rock

Wore this get up to see the ‘Who Shot Rock & Roll’ exhibit held at the Auckland Art Gallery.
In honour of the rock theme I pulled out one of my new purchases of 2013, a Biker style jacket from City Chic. Although it’s not (p)leather, it still has a similar look and will be a great substitute till I find the real deal. But most of all I’m looking forward to pairing it with a lot of my dresses I find way to girlie to wear on their own, I need a bit of edge over the frilly.
