Spreading that Xmas Joy

As we all know, xmas is a time of giving and as fun as it can be to gift to all our loved ones, please spare a thought for those families and individuals in our community who face financial hardship.
If your reading this, you can help spread the joy in several ways-

Food donations to food banks around your communities like Salvation Army Churches & Auckland City Mission. Also most Countdown Supermarkets have food bins located near checkouts where donations can be dropped.

Gifts (New Toys for Children) again donations taken to Salvo & Mission, as well as the Kmart Wishing trees that are located at the front of the store (who work with the salvos).

Monetary donations, one off donations can be made via the websites below.
They have gift packages that can be purchased which can help individuals or families in need.

BeSomeonesAngel.co.nz (Auckland City Mission)
www.salliesgiftsofhope.org

Even contacting your local Salvo, charities, missions and churches who work within the community and ask what they need and try to fill those gaps, be it food, money, gifts or volunteering your skills/ time.
You can be some ones angel in the communities you live in, it doesn't take huge gestures just donating what you can will help share that Holiday Joy that most of us take for granted.

Before shopping for our gift donations we contacted our local Slavo Church and found out that they were low in gifts for teen boys.
So this year, me and my sis were able to help fill that void, so hopefully no child goes without.

From the bottom of my fatty heart, I want to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year.

Hit of Vitamin K

You would think that this post was sponsored by Kmart with the amount of items im wearing from these peps, but im not. Im just a huge fan of simple pieces that are affordable (and when i say affordable, top and bottom was less than $20 each). Heres another attempt to broaden my horizons, away from my tight loving ways.

Cake Please

Another year, another birthday!
Unlike last year, this is a birthday spent like a teen, packed into a car cruising around Auckland, trying to find places to eat, places to pick up bits and pieces and mostly getting lost. Although i had a rough plan of how we would spend the day, like life, it didn't pan out, the hash tag of the day would have been FAILbutGoingWitDaFlow. Either way what really matters was 1-day off work and 2- spending time with loved ones, laughing all the way.
For the day, i tried something new, new to me at least, the double denim combo.
Mix in the baby pink kimono, my gifted 90s glasses and white shoes its a pale ensemble which i will be wearing again, no doubt.

Read the Tee

When i cant figure out what im going to wear, i go to one of my default outfits... Yes, my printed tee, skirt and sneaker combo. This year i have picked up wearing skirts again, since finding my thigh saver in bike shorts.
Chub rub is all too real in this fat girls life and while many of the bloggers i follow, have their own solutions, i never really found these to suite me. What did work was shorts or boxers - what i had worn throughout high school under my uniform skirt. But as i got older and yes, lets be truthful, fatter, it got harder and harder to find these items in my size. Before i knew it, i was favoring pants and tights and these became the norm. But on my trip to Oz last year (while browsing through Target), i finally found bike shorts in my size and from there i have been getting back into the skirt groove.

Westside Til I Die

Its a day of contrasts, baby Pink kimono against my 2Pac printed tee, roaming the play ground of a Catholic school. No matter where you are, dont forget where you come from and what you represent.

Fade into it

When i got this dress, i didn't expect it to be boarder flesh toned (the perils of buying online). It took me a while to figure out how i was going to wear this without looking like the missing beige telly tubby, but layers are my best friend. Thank goodness for vests, breaks up the solid colour and a piece that helps transition in Autumn.

Ruffle Touch

There seems to be a trend with Ruffles poppin up on all the clothing websites i usually troll over.
So watch me join that bandwagon with a top that subtle embraces the trend in the sleeve.
Of course Im not a complete fiend for trends so i whip out my 90s skirt for contrast, new vs old and well chucks are classics, so its just a jumble of giving no fucks and comfort.

Burgundy Love

Couple weeks ago, i was checking the City Chic email alerts and curiosity had me browsing through their website. Of course i spot this dress but the price was out of my league, so i clicked it good bye.
When i went to the CC Outlet store and actually saw it, the last one, in the colour i had been drooling over, i grabbed that bitch and power walked to the dressing room, hoping it would fit.
Happily it did, so patience and a chance look in the end, paid off.
My favorite four letter word, SALE!
