Typical Westie

What is stereotypical of West Aucklanders? Its the love of animal print!
This thrifted top of poka-dots mixed in with leopard and bitz of zebra plays homage to my neighborhood and like the last post, this too is on my hit list for culling back on my closet.
So one last bourbon and coke to this oldie but a goodie.

One Womans Trash

I picked up this thrifted dress sometime ago, brought to wear for a 90s themed, 21st birthday.
Although i did wear it with a grunge edge, i hung it in my closet and over time it was pushed further and further to the back (you know in that blind corner of your closet, where you cant really reach, without out having to take out a whole bunch of clothes out so you can slide in and look) yea, right in there.
I had a half arse clean of my closet, trying to be proactive in my goal of being less of a hoarder and i did find it difficult to let go of some of these clothes. So i made a deal with myself, that i would wear this (and a few more other items) at least one or two more times and give them up to good will, where the recycling circle can continue. As they say, one (Wo)mans trash, is another (Wo)mans treasure.

Happy New Year

Its day 3 of the New Year -sad to say im still processing the end of 2016, hell, im still processing the Christmas dinner we had at our house. It has been awhile since i posted, like most, life had to be dealt with, both time and motivation was lacking to be creative.
I have never really been a person who sets new years resolutions (i am a cynical bastard) but i know i want to aim for change this year.
Firstly, i know i want to blog more, be more creative with the content i present (which is something i will have to figure out- but a good challenge nevertheless). Then the rest is more personal goals, of course the main one being, Spend less - Save more! Which will go hand in hand with being more of a conscious consumer and less of a hoarder.
That aside, first blog of 2017 and well, shit... im in casual wear.
My shirt was actually a birthday gift from my sister, an image i had saved and always said 'this would make a mean tee'. Like a good sis, she listened, got it printed and i love it.
Anyway, blessings to you and yours, lets aim for a better 2017 yawl
